July 2020 Newsletter Stepping Out Of the Rain and Into the Sun

Rain, like other forces of nature, is a relentless reminder that we human beings are part of nature; through extreme storms, fires and floods Alberta has been reminded of this connection. However, what better way to learn to truly appreciate the warmth of the sun with many weeks of dark skies. How wonderful it is to embrace those rays; to feel a sense of community around you as we Edmontonians emerge from our homes to play and connect with Nature.

Rain is a powerful symbol in spiritual practices; in Hinduism rains (varsha) signify life, renewal, devotion, love, sorrow, rebirth, compassion, difficulties in life, and the power of the heavens to mold life upon earth according to the will of God. In ancient Egyptian culture, rain and rising rivers were symbols of fertility. In Christianity, rains and flooding were means to be cleansed and renewed.

At Healing Connections we have embraced the rain, we welcome this season of change, the rebirth our clinic and the new look and feel of our space. We look forward to the bright future, with the warmth of the sun on our faces, we take a step forward – breathe in and enjoy the ride.

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”
― Joseph Addison
