The Importance of Breast Health – Mosaic Magazine, Spring 2012 Issue

My life was turned around by receiving an Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™ (ATMAT) treatment in 2011 – I had suffered for almost 20 years with menstrual problems, being seen by many medical professionals, who all advised many times that I should have a full hysterectomy.  I was amazed that after a few treatments (and with self care massage) I no longer lived with pain.

“I thought I knew the feeling of complete relaxation – until I experienced a breast massage.  That’s when I realized I had been missing something very important.  The breast massage left me with a feeling if expansiveness – more relaxed, more aware, from the inside out.

Sheryl’s deft movements and professional approach quickly allied any fears that I had been secretly harboring about an – ahem – embarrassing ‘response’ to the touch.  And that left me thinking that we western women typically only know touch to our breasts to functional (breastfeeding), clinical (mammograms), or erotic.  It is a wonderful thing indeed to know there is another dimension to our bodies.  It is a delight to experience the women that we are in a new and healthy way through the art of breast massage”.

“I saw the pamphlet for breast massage in Sheryl’s office and found it very intriguing.  I carry a lot of tension in my chest and ribcage area and thought that breast massage might feel uncomfortable.  I have been seeing Sheryl for many years and know how sensitive she is to your comfort level.  Sheryl was amazing, she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed, the massage was soothing and very helpful for my tension and stress in the chest area.  I try to have this type of breast massage done every couple of months, in concert with my other massages I receive from Sheryl”.

“After receiving just one breast massage from Sheryl, a fibrocystic area on one of my breasts which had been tender for many years was gone.  Sheryl’s gentleness, respect, and professionalism made the experience very safe and nurturing”.

“Having just recently found out about breast massage, I decided to include it in my next massage session.  I will never not include it now.  The difference in how I felt afterwards was nothing short of remarkable.  For the first time I know what it actually feels like to be grounded and centered in my body.  Some people might have reservations about breast massage being sexual/sensual, but I found it to be no different than having any other part of the body massaged.  It’s the after effects that were profound for me.  I would recommend it to anyone and could almost guarantee that no one would then go back to the ‘old” way”.

“The female pelvis is a powerhouse of energy transformation; the very throne of creation through which universal creative energy patterns course and flow.  This depends on balance within the system.”  Dr. Rosita Arvigo, D.N.
