Christy provides a space and avenue for you to release and unwind tension and pain, as well as discover and connect with more openness, softness, kindness, flow, joy, and ease in your body and in your life.

Don Bruce
Don Bruce was interested in human nature even as a child. He has a deep desire to understand how human beings tick and how real change—healing—occurs. In his pursuit of this, he has studied psychology, world history, world religion, meditation, and has met various spiritual teachers. In his early thirties, he discovered he had a distinct empathic ability to detect what was going on with a person once making physical contact.
His practice consists primarily of Rolfing®, Body Psychology, CranioSacral Therapy and Therapeutic Massage. The focus of his work is to assist you in the process of discovering and healing your body/ mind. He is interested in helping you find your path to lasting change and evolution.
He works from the perspective that there is no separation between body and mind. That our bodies contain all the information we need to heal. And that our bodies contain the complete history of our personal life and that of our ancestors waiting to be met, released, healed. Don has been in practice since 1997.

Matthew van der Giessen
Somatic Patterning is a massage-based practice that works with the body’s innate capacity for integration and balance. Somatic Patterning focuses on the symptoms that you would like worked with while supporting your body’s natural movement toward greater functionality.
Drawing upon almost three decades as an educator and therapist, Matthew fluidly integrates his knowledge of touch, movement and breath-work into a therapeutic approach that supports your body’s unique path to healing. The problem-solving approach of Somatic Patterning, along with its focus on “working with” your body, makes it effective for chronic pain and injury, as well as with deep energetic healing.
You can expect a practical and focused assessment at the beginning of your treatment series followed by “check-ins” at regular intervals to make sure that you are reaching your goals. You can find out more about Matthew’s work with Somatic Patterning atwww.SomaticsInstitute.com

She’s continually inspired to help people reconnect with the natural given ability we have in our hands and bring it back into our relationships and households. She currently offers Massage classes for couples, mums and babies and pregnant couples.
We completely enjoyed the session on Tuesday. The soft, lovely and caring space that you created made the evening really nourishing. I especially loved how you spoke – so knowledgeably about the strokes and the body, but also really from your heart. It made it clear that the massage is for so much more than just the body, especially when coming from/given to our partners. We enjoyed learning from you, and for the opportunity to be together in such a fresh way.

Jane Lightbody Thomas
Jane has been a student of the alternative health world for the last 15 years. She is the proud owner of Healing Connections Wellness Centre.
Her first foray into alternative health was to learn as much as she could about the healing properties of our local “weeds.” This continues to be one of her favourite pastimes: growing, picking and tincturing plant medicine. Jane is a perpetual student of life and continues to ask questions.
Jane has taken extensive training over the years in energy work, aromatherapy, craniosacral training and lymphatic drainage. She took her two year massage therapy training with Matthew van der Giessen at the innovative Somatics Institute.
My role as your bodyworker is to assist you to learn the language of your body, whether it speaks to you from your muscle pain, your lymph fluid or through your cranial fluid. With hands on work, you learn to listen to your own body.
“My hands act as a mirror for you to sense or feel what your body is communicating. I suspect that we make a lot of things more complicated than they need to be. I believe that good bodywork starts with creating a space for healing or magic to transpire … and then simply allowing that to happen. I believe that by learning the art of listening to our bodies on deeper and subtler levels, we can create our own health. “
When both therapist and client get their thinking minds out of the way … the energy of love, listening and allowing can do its healing.
Every Body tells a story…..let my listening hands hear yours.
